Liu Zhongli, male, Han ethnic group, pseudonym: Honest. Born in December 1949, with secondary vocational education. Native of Longchang City, Sichuan Province. From March 1968 to 2010, he served in the military and was the Deputy Director (Vice-Department Level) of the Environmental Protection Bureau of Anzhou District, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province. In March 1970, he was recognized by the military as an active participant in the Chengdu Military Region. In February 1979, he participated in the self-defense counterattack against Vietnam. In 2021, he was awarded the “Glorious 50 Years in the Party Commemorative Medal” as one of the first recipients. He is currently a National First-Class Artist of China, a National Gift Artist, a director of the China Popular Literature and Art Research Association, a researcher of the China Oriental Culture Research Association, a member of the Art Committee of the China Elderly Calligraphy and Painting Research Association, and a member of the Chongqing Elderly Calligraphy and Painting Research Association. In 2021, he was recognized as an Outstanding Member by the China Elderly Calligraphy and Painting Research Association.

In May 2019, his fan-shaped work “Clear Air Fills the Universe” was selected for the “The Scenery Here is the Best” — Commemorative Exhibition of the 35th Anniversary of the China Elderly Calligraphy and Painting Research Association. The work was included in the “2019 China Elderly Calligraphy and Painting Yearbook”. In August 2020, his fan-shaped work “Orchids for the Noble, Fragrance in Brush and Ink” was selected for the “Facing the Storm Together — Online Calligraphy and Painting Art Exhibition Catalog”. In August 2021, his 4-foot piece “High Wind and Noble Integrity, Lofty Righteousness” was featured in the National Excellent Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and was published in the eighth issue, third page of the China Elderly Calligraphy and Painting Journal.

In August 2022, his four-foot white plum piece “Pride in the Cold” and bamboo piece “High Wind and Noble Integrity” were specially invited to participate in the 100th anniversary of Jiao Yulu’s birth, with the works collected by the Jiao Yulu Memorial Hall.

In October 2022, his fan-shaped work “Plum, Orchid, Bamboo, and Chrysanthemum” (32cm x 64cm) participated in the exhibition held by the World Chinese Overseas Chinese Artists Association, Beijing Brush and Ink Connection, China Lanting Cup, New Era People’s Art Network, and won the Gold Award. He was recognized as a dual-virtue artist by the China Lanting.

In April 2023, he was appointed as the Vice President and Academician of the “Brush and Ink Affection” Cultural and Artistic Masters Calligraphy and Painting Academy of the renowned Chinese brand. He participated in the online exhibition of the Chinese brand “Brush and Ink Affection” and won the titles of “Master of Traditional Chinese Painting” and “May Day Labor Model”.

In 2023, he published the Liu Zhongli Calligraphy and Painting Collection, the “Glorious China” commemorative postal album published by the China Post Bureau, “Complete Collection of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting”, “Splendid Brush and Ink Chapters”, “Walking on the Great Path”, “Investment and Reference”, and “Chinese Collections”, among others.

In April 2024, at the “Five Stars Rising in the East” — World Famous Art School Special Academic Exchange, his work “The Highest Integrity Among Flowers” was permanently collected by the Berlin Art University. His work “Lingering Fragrance” was permanently collected by the Rome Academy of Fine Arts.
